Karijini National Park: reviews and practical tips

I visited Karijini National Park and it is one of my top three favorite parks in Australia. It is not just beautiful, it is a truly physical experience. The hikes take you down into deep gorges, sometimes in the water, sometimes between the rocks, all the way to natural pools or waterfalls that you cannot find anywhere else.

I especially loved Hancock Gorge with Kermit's Pool. Fortescue Falls and Fern Pool are more accessible and perfect for cooling off after the effort.

Plan for at least two days there to enjoy the park without feeling too rushed, or even more if you want to explore more gorges.

A tip if you are heading there, good water shoes or high-traction footwear make a real difference on the slippery rocks, and it is best to set out early in the morning, before the heat.

Karijini National Park is located on the opposite side of the Australian big cities you have probably planned to visit (Sydney, Melbourne...). So it is legitimate to wonder if it is worth traveling thousands of miles to see this park?

My answer is yes, without hesitation! The landscapes, the canyons, the colors, the wildlife, everything there is magnificent! If you are lucky, you might run into a passionate guide who will make you see things with emotion and make you fall in love with the place.
