Complexe hôtelier
A casino, spa, and concert venue on the outskirts of Tucson for a gaming-focused getaway.
Located about twenty minutes from downtown Tucson on Nogales Highway, this hotel-casino caters to a specific crowd: those coming to gamble, relax at the spa, or catch a concert, all while prioritizing a comfortable room over boutique charm. The atmosphere is that of a classic American casino, complete with neon lights, thick carpeting, and constant foot traffic.
The location
The site is isolated on the southern outskirts of the city in a rather nondescript desert setting. It is a logical choice if your primary goal is the casino itself or an event at the Diamond Center, the attached performance venue. If you want to explore historic downtown Tucson or Saguaro National Park, you will need a car because nothing is within walking distance of the hotel.
Rooms and comfort
The rooms are spacious and modern, designed for rest after a night in the casino rather than for aesthetic appeal. They offer the standard comforts expected in this type of establishment: decent bedding, effective air conditioning (a welcome feature given the local temperatures), and generally satisfactory soundproofing despite the proximity to the activity on the ground floor.
Dining and drinks
On-site, several dining options cover the essentials: a more formal restaurant, a buffet, and quick-service spots accessible directly from the casino floor. The complex bars remain open late, acting as a natural extension of the gaming activity.
Services and perks
The complex features a spa and wellness facilities that allow for a break between gaming sessions. The Diamond Center regularly hosts concerts and shows, which can be a reason to visit all on its own for some travelers.
Who it is for
The pros
- Turnkey stay for casino enthusiasts
- Spacious and well-air-conditioned rooms
- On-site spa and performance venue
Good to know before booking
- Out-of-the-way location, a car is essential
- Noisy and smoky atmosphere in gaming areas
- Not well-suited for a trip focused on nature or local heritage
Friendly advice: if you are primarily looking to discover Tucson and its surroundings, choose more central accommodations. This hotel makes the most sense if the casino, the spa, or a concert at the Diamond Center are at the heart of your plans.

Sometimes you just need a getaway. My partner and I are not big gamblers, but we dabble from time to time, so we thought, why not try out this nearby hotel for a little staycation.
Best decision we ever made; the room is wonderful, the shower is big and clean, the balcony was spacious and relaxing in the morning, and the food was the best part.
First of all, the prices are so reasonable for the amount of food your gettting, and I've had almost everything on that menu before I changed to a plant-based diet, and it was all so delicious. Fries are always crispy, food is always fresh, and you get a free drink.
Can't beat that!
