Opened in June 2022 as the seventh Center Parcs location in France, the Center Parcs Les Landes de Gascogne - Aquitaine is the brand's most southerly property. It sits about 60 miles from Bordeaux, right at the edge of the Parc Régional des Landes de Gascogne and just minutes from the village of Casteljaloux, which is known for its thermal spa.

A wide range of activities

The setting is classic Landes, defined by expansive pine forests. Like all Center Parcs, this resort features an indoor water park with slides and wave pools called the Aqua Mundo. You will also find outdoor pools, a lazy river, playgrounds, sports fields, a spa, an animal farm, vegetable gardens, mini-golf, a ropes course, and pony rides. Staff can organize culinary or art workshops for the family, along with guided tours of the farm, gardens, and permaculture plots. Notably, the entire resort is car-free.

Cottage and unique rentals

Beyond the standard bungalows, this property introduces unique rentals: the Treehouse and the Farmhouse. As the names suggest, you can stay high in the trees or right next to the farm animals, all while enjoying modern amenities. For more traditional lodging, you have a choice between two cottage ranges: Comfort (standard) or VIP (premium). Sleeping between two and 12 people, these single-story units include a fully equipped kitchen, bedding, towels, a living area with a TV, WiFi, a private terrace, and end-of-stay cleaning. Baby beds and high chairs are available upon request.

Dining

Since every rental includes a full kitchen, you are welcome to cook your own meals by bringing groceries, shopping at the on-site Carrefour Express, or visiting nearby markets. If you want to experience regional food, the Bistrot du Lot-et-Garonne is the spot. The menu is designed by chef Michel Dussau and focuses on specialties and wines from the southwest. For a broader range of international dishes, choose the Comptoire des Halles. You can also order food to be delivered directly to your cottage using your mobile phone.

Some good ideas but the pool is a bit small

This Center Parc is brand new and located in the southwest, in a very green and pleasant setting. The cottages are clean, well-laid out, equipped, and modern. You can tell it is new!
The disappointment, it is the size of the pool, not very big and only 3 slides :(

Not ready yet

I went there a year ago but I just discovered this site, so I am posting my review only now.
Beautiful place, surrounded by a very relaxing natural setting. However, I got the feeling that there was a lack of staff, or that they were poorly trained, because the answers to our questions were unclear and we were told things that required us to follow up several times.
There was a leaking pipe in the bathroom, maybe a manufacturing defect?

Great place to relax

Brand new, with a big and clean water park, and a green, forested area that smells like nature. One small downside: the restaurants on site cost an arm and a leg compared to the quality and quantity of the meals.

Nice pool but a few things to improve

Brand new, the pool is superb, with its slides, hot tubs, etc. Plus, it is free for guests!
On the points to improve: the cleanliness of the cottages, especially the kitchen, and the prices for activities and meals, which need to be lowered. Also, plan for more activities for very young children (under 4 years old).

Great potential

Opened this summer, this new Center Parcs is already very good and will be excellent in a few months.
The cottages are cozy, made of wood, clean, and well-equipped. There are fans, but the insulation is such that you do not necessarily need them if you keep everything closed during the day and air it out at night. The farm, the vegetable garden, and the indoor and outdoor playgrounds are top notch for the kids. The Aquamundo is super well designed, and it is big. It can accommodate a lot of people without feeling crowded.
The staff: adorable
Areas for improvement:
- Shade for the parking lot: cars turn into ovens if they are parked in the sun
- More umbrellas
- Better supply management for meals, equipment, and accessories
- Prices are too high for dining

Brand new and beautiful

Opened in 2022, this southern resort is brand new and beautiful. The comfort cottage I stayed in was very well laid out and decorated. You feel right at home, with enough space to fit 4 people without feeling cramped. The accommodations aren't all packed together, but grouped in small clusters, which is also really nice. The water park is just fabulous.
As for the small things to improve: the organization. A few little spots of dust in the bungalow when we arrived. A lot of waiting at the restaurant and staff who didn't necessarily know how to answer our questions. The organization is still in the trial phase.
