We just got back from a private safari in Kenya, with a guide just for us, followed by a few days on a private island in the Seychelles. <br>For once, it feels like we actually traveled, instead of just checking off a brochure. <br>We had already tried and talked to five agencies in France, the ones everyone knows. <br>On paper, everyone is a luxury specialist. In practice, we kept getting nearly identical quotes, cookie-cutter hotels straight out of a catalog, and automated follow-up emails the second we asked a specific question. <br>We started calling them fake luxury agencies among ourselves: all talk, very little listening. <br>With Voyages de Luxe in Paris, the tone shifted from the very first conversation. We talked about what we actually wanted: not the most photographed lodge, more like quiet, a pace that fit us, and the end of the trip with our feet in the water, far from the crowds. Nothing was pushed on us. We felt like we were building the trip with someone, not filling out a form. <br>On the ground, everything held up. The little touches we had mentioned were there, the pre-trip check-ins kept us from any bad surprises, and when we had a question about a transfer, we got a real person on the line, not a template email. It sounds silly, but it changes everything. <br>We came back rested, thrilled with both Kenya and the Seychelles, and above all relieved to have finally found an agency that feels human, 100% custom, far from the quote factories. We were hesitating between several destinations for our 2 weeks of vacation as a couple, and honestly, we do not regret at all having given free rein to the Voyages de Luxe agency in Paris. Right from the first conversation, we felt like we were not talking to a basic salesperson, but to someone who knew Jamaica inside and out. Every hotel, every transfer, every activity... everything had been thought out based on what we had told them: we wanted luxury, but also authenticity, and definitely not the tourist factory vibe.

In Montego Bay, the hotel was just perfect: quiet, refined, with an almost private beach. Then Negril, and its cliffs at sunset... we had dinner at Rick's Café (incredible experience) and spent afternoons doing nothing on Seven Mile Beach, at a resort where the staff called us by our first names by the second day. The icing on the cake was Port Antonio, much wilder and greener. The agency had booked us a rafting trip on the Martha Brae River, followed by a home-cooked lunch with locals that we never would have found on our own. It was magical.

What blew us away was how smooth everything went: the private transfers were always on time, the drivers super friendly and safe, and at no point did we have to stress about a single detail. When we had a small issue with our room upon arrival (a somewhat disappointing view), one phone call to our advisor and it was sorted in 20 minutes. It changes everything not being left to fend for yourself on the other side of the world.

Jamaica is so much more than what you imagine: the music everywhere, the delicious food (jerk chicken, patties, fresh fruit...), and that energy from the people that is just contagious. We came back refreshed, full of memories in our heads and already wanting to go back.

We already knew Voyages de Luxe by reputation, that family-owned agency located in Place Vendôme in Paris that practices haute couture travel. We figured it might be a bit too much for our first trip to Egypt. In fact, it was exactly what we needed.
After a conversation lasting over an hour with our dedicated Travel Designer, we felt he truly understood what we were looking for. No catalog, no package. We talked about what we liked, our pace, and he took notes, asked questions we wouldn't even have thought of asking ourselves. That changes everything.
For Egypt, they put together an itinerary that could never have come out of a standard agency. Nile cruise on a private dahabieh, not a standard cruise boat, with a crew all to ourselves. Visit to Nefertari's tomb at 7:00 AM, before opening to the public. Dinner on a private terrace facing the Giza pyramids, with a passionate archaeologist who told us the site's history as if he were talking to us at home.
What struck me the most was the seamlessness. Private driver at every stop, priority access to sites, hotels chosen with a real sense of detail. And when our Aswan to Cairo flight was two hours late, we received a message before we even landed: transfer reorganized, hotel dinner adjusted. Zero stress on our end.
If I have to nitpick, the first suite in Cairo didn't suit us. We mentioned that to our Travel Designer the next morning. Within an hour, we were moved to another more spacious suite with a view of the Nile. That's the difference with a high-end agency: when there's an unexpected issue, they react immediately, without paperwork.
For a family-owned haute couture travel company, the value for money is fair. You pay for custom-made service, and you get what you pay for. We come back from this trip to Egypt with incredible memories and the impression of having discovered a country we could never have seen otherwise. We're already leaving while dreaming about the next destination.
