Find your next experience with GetYourGuide in one click
The idea started during a trip to Beijing, where four friends found themselves stuck, unsure of what to see or how to book it. Back in Zurich, they wanted to solve this frustration for other travelers. That effort led to the creation of GetYourGuide, a platform for booking activities and entrance tickets, founded in 2009 in Germany by Tao Tao, Martin Sieber, Johannes Reck, and Tobias Rein.
A diverse catalog of things to do
The platform acts as an intermediary between you and local providers like rental companies, tour guides, parks, and museums. You can book an infinite variety of products, including museum entry, historical site tours, cultural or culinary experiences, nature excursions, sports, and city passes. In total, the site offers more than 75,000 activities across more than 150 countries.
The catalog is easy to use, allowing you to filter experiences by your destination, interests, budget, and the duration of the activity.
GetYourGuide is designed for travelers who want to plan specific outings at their destination. It works for a wide range of people, offering age-specific pricing for children, seniors, and students.
Savings, reliability, and support
While prices on GetYourGuide generally match those on official provider websites, the platform does feature promotions and bundled offers that can save you money.
Other key strengths include the ability to read reviews from previous travelers to gauge the quality of an experience. You also get cancellation flexibility, allowing you to cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. The company also provides responsive customer support to handle issues, along with an Android and iOS mobile app that makes it easy to manage bookings and scan entry tickets on the go.
It is very simple: I have never had a bad experience with GetYourGuide, and I always use it at least once on my trips. Whether it is for day trips or one-off activities, it is always solid and simple to use. I once had a provider in Poland who forgot about me, but the GetYourGuide customer service was available on a Sunday at 8:00 AM to call them and try to help me out. Honestly, for my part, I recommend them with my eyes closed!
