Zanzibar Car Rental is a locally owned car hire company based in Zanzibar, started in [2026] by a team who know the island’s roads, villages and beaches first-hand. We saw too many visitors overpaying for taxis or struggling with unclear rental terms, so we built a simple, honest way to rent a reliable car online and explore Zanzibar at your own pace.
Our offer
We rent automatic SUVs, minivans and 4x4s, from the Nissan Juke and Toyota RAV4 to the 7-seat Alphard and Land Cruiser Prado, starting at $30 per day with unlimited mileage. We deliver to Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ), the Stone Town ferry terminal and hotels island-wide, including Nungwi, Kendwa, Paje, Jambiani, Matemwe and Michamvi. We also help with your Zanzibar driving permit and airport transfers.
