The brand is owned by the group Europcar, which acquired it in 2017. That deal involved the sale of all of Goldcar, previously known as the largest low-cost car rental company in Europe, to Europcar. The transaction was based on an enterprise value of 550 million euros ($580 million).
Under the ownership of the Investindustrial fund, Goldcar transformed from a family-run Iberian player into a structured, tech-forward international group before joining Europcar's brand portfolio.
