Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire

Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire (RRFB) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring and strengthening coral reef ecosystems in Bonaire and beyond. Working alongside local communities, dive operators, and international research partners, RRFB uses science-based and adaptive restoration techniques to rebuild coral populations and support reef resilience.

Our work combines coral propagation, outplanting, and long-term monitoring with innovation in restoration methods and knowledge sharing across the Caribbean and beyond. Through collaboration and community engagement, RRFB is helping to secure a future for coral reefs in a rapidly changing ocean.

So far, we've outplanted over 75,000 corals back to degraded reef sites around Bonaire. Our system of 14 coral nurseries around the island can hold over 27,000 corals at any given time. We work with 17 partner dive shops and are assisted by a community of over 100 active volunteers who help us expand our impact underwater.
