Quality at a low price
Founded in 2004 and based in El Prat de Llobregat near Barcelona, Vueling is to Spain what EasyJet is to the United Kingdom, specifically a low-cost airline.
Low price does not necessarily mean a budget carrier with fewer services or less comfort. In fact, contrary to expectations, the airline considered the fourth largest low-cost airline in Europe behind Ryanair, EasyJet, and Norwegian is known for the quality of its service and flights. Its motto, "always better and with less," centers on focusing on what is actually important to the traveler while using fewer resources to keep costs down for the customer.
The numbers support this commitment. With 34.5 million passengers in 2019, 218,028 flights, and 2.4 billion euros (about 2.6 billion USD) in revenue that same year before the Covid-19 pandemic, Vueling has demonstrated its value to a growing customer base. The airline offers flights to more than 140 destinations in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East through its 22 bases, including 8 outside of Spain.
To manage this, the company operates a fleet of 121 Airbus aircraft with an average age of 7.3 years.
Beyond just flights
Vueling does not stop at flights. It also offers customers hotel booking services, car rentals, and a loyalty program called Vueling Club. This allows passengers to accumulate points and earn various benefits, alongside the ability to book tickets online and manage special flight-related requests.
I traveled with Vueling once and you can clearly tell it is true low cost.
The comfort on board is pretty average and if you want to drink or eat something, everything costs extra.
On the other hand, my flight went well: no delays and no problems with the luggage.
Decent for a cheap flight.
