Timanfaya National Park, on Lanzarote in Spain, features volcanic terrain shaped by eruptions between 1730 and 1736. Explore this protected landscape via bus tours on the Route of the Volcanoes, watch geothermal demos at the El Diablo restaurant, or hike through unique flora and fauna. It is a lesson in conservation for every traveler.
A land of volcanic character, Lanzarote is packed with wonders. In Yaiza, at the southern tip, Marina Rubicón stands out. Nestled between Playa Blanca and the Los Ajaches volcanic massif, this elegant hub offers upscale shopping and waterfront dining. Try sailing or scuba diving nearby, or visit the Museo Atlántico (Underwater Museum) before taking a boat trip to Fuerteventura or Lobos Island.

The port is modern and well maintained, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and shops. It is an ideal starting point for water activities like diving or boat trips. If you want to head over to Fuerteventura, this is the right place to catch the ferry. I recommend booking your ticket online.

The volcanic landscapes are breathtaking, you really feel like you are on another planet! A bus tour is available and lets you explore areas not accessible by car. The trip lasts about 40 minutes and includes photo stops, but you cannot get off. Quick tip: sit on the right side of the bus for the best view. On site, there is also a gift shop and a restaurant that I recommend: the meat is cooked using the heat from the volcano.

A stunning natural park that stays wild despite the tourism. Camel rides through a lunar landscape, hikes on this impressive black volcanic land. In my opinion, the ideal way is to start the visit in the afternoon and leave late. You can also eat at a good restaurant where they cook meat over the lava, delicious :)

On the positive side, the volcanic and arid landscapes are truly fabulous and unique. I do not know any other place that looks like this. Apart from the volcanoes, you will also see lava plains or geysers.
Quick tip, try to grab a seat on the right side of the bus to get the best views ;)
Then try to arrive at opening time, at 9:30 AM, to avoid the long lines with the other tourists and vehicles.

Right at the southern tip of Lanzarote, the port of Rubicon provides connections to the island of Fuerteventura, which is really close by, as well as the other Canary Islands. It is also a lively area where you can go for a walk and grab a table at a restaurant to enjoy some local dishes.
