Roller coasters and water rides for all ages
Opened in 1979 under the name Avenir Land, this family amusement park officially joined the groupe Walibi in 1985. It sits in the Isère department at Les Avenières (35 km from Chambéry, 60 km from Grenoble, 62 km from Lyon) across 35 hectares of lush greenery.
Featuring over 30 attractions, Walibi Rhône-Alpes caters to visitors of every age with a wide spectrum of thrill levels.
The 3 themed zones of the park:
- Explorer Adventure, the historic section of the park inspired by the American Wild West, anchored by Timber, a wooden roller coaster as its headline attraction
- Festival City, inspired by Louisiana and the festive spirit of New Orleans. Here, the star attraction is Mystic, a roller coaster boasting a vertical climb of over 30 meters before the inevitable drop
- Exotic Island, the new area created in 2022 that replaced Aqualibi, the former water zone. Featuring a lush tropical atmosphere, it focuses on family-friendly water play attractions
In total, the park features roughly ten thrill rides, ten children's rides, and about fifteen family-friendly attractions.
A popular spot to spend the day
Designed to host families for the entire day, and even into the evening during summer night events on select Saturdays in August, Walibi Rhône-Alpes houses several dining options serving traditional meals, sandwiches, and quick snacks across varied settings.
Although closed half the year, the park still draws over 600,000 visitors annually, making it one of the most popular theme parks in the region.
