Roller coasters and water rides for every age
Opened in 1979 under the name Avenir Land, this family amusement park officially joined the Walibi group in 1985. It is located in the Isere department in Les Avenieres (22 miles from Chambery, 37 miles from Grenoble, 39 miles from Lyon), set within 86 acres of wooded grounds.
With more than 30 attractions, Walibi Rhône-Alpes caters to visitors of all ages and offers a range of thrill levels.
The 3 themed zones of the park:
- Explorer Adventure, the park's original section, themed after the American West, featuring the wooden roller coaster Timber as its main attraction.
- Festival City, inspired by Louisiana and the festive spirit of New Orleans. The star here is Mystic, a roller coaster featuring a vertical climb of over 98 feet, followed by a steep drop.
- Exotic Island, a new space opened in 2022 that replaced the former Aqualibi water zone. It features a lush tropical atmosphere with family-friendly attractions centered on water play.
In total, Walibi includes about 10 thrill rides, 10 rides reserved for children, and 15 attractions designed for the whole family.
A popular destination for a full day out
The park is set up to host your group for the entire day, and even into the evening during summer night events held on select Saturdays in August. Walibi Rhône-Alpes houses different types of restaurants, serving standard meals, sandwiches, and snacks in various settings.
Although it is closed for half the year, this destination still attracts more than 600,000 visitors annually, making it one of the most popular theme parks in the region.
