Cairo International Stadium at a glance

Originally built in 1960 and renovated in 2004, Cairo International Stadium stands as the most significant venue in Egypt. Located in the eastern part of the capital city center, it holds a capacity of up to 75,000 spectators.

Throughout the year, the stadium hosts matches for its two resident football clubs, Al Ahly SC and Zamalek. It also serves as the primary home turf for the Egyptian national football team.

In 2019, the stadium was a key venue for the country when it hosted the Africa Cup of Nations. It held several matches during the competition, most notably the final game on July 19.

Unhealthy atmosphere

I heard some stories about this stadium that make you not want to go there, at least, not in the visitors section.
The atmosphere is unhealthy and you just do not feel safe there.

Avoid it
