Visiting Anse Soleil Beach

Anse Soleil is a small bay located on the largest island in the Seychelles: the island of Mahé. The term paradise comes to mind the moment you lay your towel down on this fine sand beach, lined with coconut palms and facing a stretch of crystal clear water. In this setting, it is natural to simply relax in the sun. More adventurous spirits, however, prefer to head out for underwater escapades with a mask and snorkel. The site is well suited for snorkeling and surfing. Across this 200 meter long and 20 meter wide stretch of white sand, you can see the best of what the Seychelles has to offer. The beach is relatively wild and lacks amenities, so you should bring your own gear like beach umbrellas and chairs to stay comfortable.

The Seychelles underwater

If you are interested in snorkeling, the left side of the cove is best for these underwater excursions. By starting your swim near the rocks, you will have the best vantage point to see the Seychelles from a new perspective. Anse Soleil is not enclosed by any coral reef, which means the spot is directly open to the ocean. As you head further out, you can admire the seabed as it slopes gently downward, reaching depths of 4 to 6 meters in the central part of the spot. This is plenty of space to enjoy the view without putting yourself at risk.
