The fresh, natural interior decor featuring a fireplace corner certainly backs that up, along with those pretty white wooden balustrades ornamenting the terraces of some of the three types of cottages offered by the park. You can choose between three categories, comfort, premium, or VIP, by the lake or not, accommodating 4 to 8 guests, equipped with a living room with a fireplace, a fully equipped open kitchen, a bathroom, sofa, flat-screen TV, private furnished terrace, and baby gear.

The lake is a real plus

That is the concept, but sometimes Center Parcs all feel the same. For the Center Parc du lac d'Ailette, the lake offers a real plus for the setting and the activities on offer. The layout of the cottages gives it a village feel. We were there with friends for a bachelor party. We were definitely loud and rowdy at times, but the staff was always very courteous to us, especially when it was necessary. The cottage we had was very comfortable. The many activities allow everyone to do what they like. I will come back here with my family.

Easy vacation to plan

Vacation village with a water park, indoor and outdoor activities, on the lake. Ideal for relaxing easily in the north of France.

Evening by the fireplace

Days filled with time in the pool, walks by the lake, or out on the champagne trail, followed by evenings by the fireplace playing cards. Just a perfect vacation :)

Way too expensive

Going there with kids means breaking the bank on activities, or else just sticking to the water park. As for meals, same thing. It is not bad, but expensive for what it is (if you go as a group of five, the bill adds up fast). The place is nice, but it is far from any public transit. You absolutely have to come by car and depending on where you are coming from, it is a long drive.

Great for a family weekend

Really great times with the family, including kids, my sister, nieces, and nephews.
We rented a large bungalow for 8 people where we were able to stay without feeling like we were on top of each other. The activities at the pool and outdoors were a hit with everyone.

Great idea for a short getaway

In a time when it is complicated to travel far, especially abroad, it felt good to take a break at this Center Parcs. You really disconnect and get the feeling that you have gone somewhere else.

No more than 2 days

The tropical greenhouse is nice, but you run through it pretty quickly. Most of the rest costs extra. The meals on site are expensive for what they are.
In short, it is fine for a weekend, but not any longer than that.

A bit dated compared to other Center Parcs, like the one in the Ardennes or Village Nature in Paris.
But why not choose it if you find a great deal.

We had a great weekend

We were able to disconnect for a long 3 day weekend. Super easy to organize, and it feels like we went far away, even though we didn't.

Good value for the money

If you are looking for a Center Parc not too far from the north of the Paris region, and cheaper than the exorbitant Village Nature, the Picardie location is the perfect option.
With facilities that were renovated not too long ago, you will have a great time at the Aquamundo, by the lake, or just hanging around.

Summer camp vibe

Coming here as a guest with a group of friends, I felt like I was just there to "consume" entertainment, with no real need to leave the tropical bubble and its surroundings.
There are plenty of things to try, but very few are included in the basic package for the stay.

Need a car but a nice getaway

I will start with what disappointed us a little: we arrived in Laon by train and found no public transportation to drop us off at Center Parc du Lac d'Ailette. We ended up having to take a taxi. In the end, it is probably more practical and economical to rent a cheap car to make the trip.
Well, that aside, we had a good weekend with a real break from the daily grind. We loved the games in the pool and its slides (we are big kids), and the bike rides around the lake. I saw that you could go sailing on this lake, by the way. We didn't try it, but it should interest quite a few people.

Relaxing family weekend

Quiet and relaxing family weekend, a 2-hour drive from the Paris region, or even less if you live in the northern suburbs. You can pack light since all the equipment is on-site, which is top notch.

A cozy nature retreat

The cottages, which have the advantage of not being packed together, surround a lake that you can quietly observe from the terrace of your bungalow. The view is relaxing. As for getting some exercise, you have a choice between many activities for an extra fee, like biking or windsurfing, but there is also the Aqua Mundo which is free for residents.

A few points to improve, though. Depending on your accommodation, you might find yourself a few dozen minutes away from the parking lot. The value for money at the restaurants is very average. And finally, I would have liked the bathroom to be completely clean. Also, if you want cleaning done during your stay, you have to pay a supplement.
