It is common to feel slightly overwhelmed when visiting an unfamiliar city. Deciding which museums to prioritize, how much time to allocate, and managing ticket costs can turn into a logistical headache. To address this, a group of New York tourism veterans founded the Sightseeing Pass in 2016.
What is the Sightseeing Pass?
It is a digital tourist pass that grants entry to major attractions and points of interest in New York and 15 other cities around the world, designed to lower your overall sightseeing costs.
The benefits of the Sightseeing Pass
Regardless of the city, the advantages of holding such a pass are consistent. You save money compared to buying individual tickets for every attraction, bypass some general admission lines, access discounts at a curated list of local shops and restaurants, and can secure your spot in advance for select experiences.
The key is choosing the right version to maximize these benefits. Customers can choose between two main formats: the Day Pass (Sightseeing Day Pass) and the Flex Pass (Sightseeing Flex Pass).
Difference between the Day Pass and the Flex Pass
To put it simply, with the Day Pass, you choose the number of days the pass is valid, ranging from 1 to 10 days. You can visit as many attractions as you want during that timeframe. The package also includes a free meal at a participating restaurant from a list of popular local spots, along with unlimited access to hop-on hop-off buses to navigate between sights.
The second option is the Flex Pass, where you choose the number of attractions you want to visit, between 2 and 10. This pass remains valid for 30 days once activated.
Where to buy a Sightseeing Pass?
All passes are available for purchase directly on the Sightseeing Pass website, where booking online typically yields the best rates. Keep in mind that the more you see, the more you save. One-day passes are often not the best value, so plan accordingly. Additionally, the passes can be managed digitally using the free Sightseeing Pass mobile app.
