Today, MSC Cruises is a division of the MSC Group, a Swiss-based family company. Since its inception, the line has seen significant growth, becoming the third largest cruise operator in the world. As of 2022, the MSC Cruises fleet consisted of 22 ships organized into six distinct classes:
