What to know about Ovoyages

Originally a specialist in wellness travel

Ovoyages, initially known as Thalasso n°1, was founded in the Paris region in 2003 by Samia and Raouf Ben Slimane. The company started by focusing on wellness trips, combining vacations with spa treatments to meet the growing demand for that type of service.

Growth into a generalist tour operator

Since the mid-2010s, and particularly starting in 2018, Ovoyages expanded its offerings to become a generalist tour operator. This diversification resulted in a broader range of destinations, now covering more than 80 hotel clubs under the Ôclub brand, alongside the introduction of new themed vacation concepts. In January 2025, the company opened its capital to investors including Turenne Groupe and Bpifrance (the French Public Investment Bank), aiming to double its business by 2028 and strengthen its position in the French tourism market.

Current offers and reach

Today, Ovoyages provides a variety of travel options, including all-inclusive stays, tours, multi-destination packages, and self-drive trips. The company serves more than 60 destinations worldwide, with departures from 25 cities in France. Their packages cater to various travelers, from families and couples looking for relaxation to those interested in cultural exploration.

Strengths and differentiation

Key highlights of Ovoyages include their proven expertise in travel production, constant support with advisors available through various communication channels, and a local presence in most destinations to assist travelers throughout their stay.

Furthermore, the company has developed exclusive concepts like Ôclub, which offer immersive experiences and activity programs designed for all ages. This ability to innovate and diversify their offerings sets Ovoyages apart from other travel agencies in the market.

Lack of professionalism

Mixed feelings: Hotel saved by the skin of its teeth, but very questionable methods.
I booked a trip for the Hotel Lella Baya 4* in Hammamet. A while before departure, the agency sent me an email to cancel my reservation under the pretext of a "technical problem," trying to rebook me into a 3* hotel in Monastir (a lower category and a different destination!).
Fortunately, by checking their own website, I noticed that the initial hotel was still available for sale for my exact dates. Faced with my proof and my firmness (I mentioned consumer protection associations), the agency finally backed down and reconfirmed my booking for the initial hotel.
I cannot help but assume that the great rate of my initial booking bothered the agency, which was likely looking to free up my room to resell it at a high price in the middle of the season, while bumping me to a low-end hotel.
I regret the total lack of customer consideration. No gesture, upgrade, or apology was offered for the stress caused. The way they handle files is very borderline. Stay very vigilant with them!
