Spain's leading online travel agency
"Destinia" might sound like "destiny" or "destination." Whatever the linguistic origin, Amuda Goueli and Ian Webber knew exactly where they were headed when they founded Destinia.com in 2001. It started as the first Spanish online travel agency, focused primarily on hotel bookings.
Given the name, it is no surprise that this project did not stay small for long. Born from a simple idea between friends, the company steadily expanded its scope. Today, it offers access to over 300,000 hotels and flights from 600 airlines. They have layered on an eclectic mix of services, including flight plus hotel packages, apartment rentals, beach resorts, hostels, car rentals, airport transfers, and train tickets. All of this is available through an interface supporting over 30 languages.
Constant technological innovation
It is clear how this European tour operator managed to scale internationally, as evidenced by offices in Cairo, Dubai, and Tehran. They even made headlines by accepting bitcoin and five other major cryptocurrencies for a wide range of products, allowing the operator to extend its reach beyond European borders and connect with a broader audience.
As if the real world were not enough, this pioneer in payment innovation has also experimented with the virtual world and outer space. They were among the first to offer space travel and developed an app called Hotel Near Me for booking hotels using Google Glass headsets.
More than just a master of its own destiny, it is clear that Destinia.com has become a master of new technology.

I stumbled upon a great off-season deal for the Canaries. Really nice trip, no scams.
