The Caribbean aviation specialist

After more than 20 years flying over the Caribbean and French Guiana, it is clear that this region holds no secrets for Air Caraibes, a scheduled French airline that has established itself as the go-to specialist for these destinations since its founding in 2000.

The carrier, owned by the family-run Dubreuil Group, has always served as a bridge between Caribbean islands via its regional network, extending that link across the Atlantic with flights to Paris Orly. From Paris, the airline serves destinations including Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, and Mexico.

Beyond the Caribbean

Despite a name that sounds geographically limited, Air Caraibes can take you much further. With a boost from its sister airline French bee, the carrier offers connections to the United States (New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Miami), Reunion Island, and French Polynesia.

They also maintain the Train + Air and navigAIR services to ensure that travelers from outside major hubs can easily reach their Caribbean connections.

Where modern efficiency meets tradition

To pull this off, Air Caraibes relies on a modern, high-performance fleet of 12 aircraft designed to be more environmentally friendly, helping to protect the ecosystems of the destinations they serve.

This ecological commitment aligns with the core values of the brand, where pride of belonging, proximity, performance, innovation, and eco-responsibility serve as the pillars for their long-term success.

You should board a flight to see for yourself. When booking your ticket, you can choose between 3 classes depending on your budget and preferences: Soleil, Caraibes, and Madras. The names set the tone, as do the onboard services: meals featuring Caribbean flavors, a warm welcome with island music, and announcements made in Creole. The goal is simple, to immerse the traveler in a 100 percent Caribbean atmosphere the moment they step on the plane.

My thoughts on Air Caraibes

Just so you know, we took this airline to Martinique 8) last year and we had a really pleasant time with them. A ti-punch was offered to get us in the mood ;D the flight was very pleasant, small individual TV per seat with a choice of recent movies, and all the little accessories offered, socks (though it is a bit hot in Martinique!) earplugs etc... and drinks served regularly. There you go, hope this helps you out, have a great trip :)

My take on Air Caraibes

Hello. I apologize for tempering the enthusiasm for this airline. I just got back from Martinique with Air Caraibes. We took off from Lamentin two hours late because the plane they used arrived, supposedly, "behind schedule." As a result, I missed my connection to Bordeaux even though I had planned for a two and a half hour layover at Orly. Since my ticket to Bordeaux was non-changeable, I had to pay €45 (about $48) to take the next one, not to mention the three additional hours of waiting before takeoff. I sent an email to Air Caraibes to inform them of this inconvenience and took the opportunity to ask them for a refund of the €45. Their only (quick) response was to tell me that on long-haul flights they are "entitled" to up to three hours of delay without compensation. It is very easy to hide behind civil aviation rules, especially when it suits them. I would have preferred a less administrative response and perhaps some negotiation, even if I think other airlines act the same way. Air Caraibes will no longer be my preferred carrier for this reason alone. Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com
