The Republic of Serbia's flag carrier

As the name suggests, Air Serbia is the national airline of the Republic of Serbia.

Tracing its lineage back to Aeroput, the first national carrier founded in Belgrade in 1927, the airline has operated under its current name only since October 2013. That was the year Etihad Airways, Jat Airways, and the Serbian government formed a strategic partnership to launch the modern brand. Today, the carrier is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Expanding global reach with upgraded service

Following multi-million dollar investments from its partners, the airline now serves more than 70 destinations through scheduled, seasonal, and charter flights. The network spans Europe, the Mediterranean, North America, Asia, Africa, and Australia, covering both passenger travel and cargo. The fleet consists of 19 aircraft, with several units having undergone a major refurbishment in 2022 to improve passenger comfort and cabin amenities.

To customize your trip, the airline offers a variety of add-on services for a fee. Options include advance seat selection, priority boarding, unaccompanied minor services, pet travel, extra or XL baggage, and the transport of specialized sports equipment.

The Belgrade to Chicago connection

The company emphasizes corporate values like gender equality, fair labor practices, climate change mitigation, and a consistent passenger experience. Their primary goal is sustainable economic growth through continuous operational renewal. A significant milestone occurred on May 17, 2023, with the launch of direct flights between Belgrade and Chicago, restoring a route that had been dormant for over 30 years. These flights are operated by Airbus A330 aircraft with a flight time of approximately 11 hours, and tickets are currently available for purchase.
