What to know about American Airlines
A legacy giant in air travel
Founded in 1930, American Airlines is one of the oldest and most influential carriers in the world. Established in the United States, the company grew from the merger of more than 80 smaller regional airlines with the goal of structuring and modernizing the aviation industry. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, it quickly played a major role in the evolution of commercial aviation through a focus on innovation and network expansion.
A carrier with global reach
Today, American Airlines is a global leader in air travel. It operates more than 6,800 flights per day to nearly 350 destinations across more than 50 countries. Through its membership in the Oneworld alliance, it offers global connections that simplify international travel. The carrier's primary hubs are located in strategic cities such as Dallas-Fort Worth, Miami, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.
A wide range of services and travel options
American Airlines offers a full range of services to meet diverse traveler needs, including economy, premium, and business classes, with options tailored for both short-haul and long-haul flights. The company regularly invests in the comfort of its aircraft by modernizing its fleet, incorporating ergonomic seating, improved entertainment systems, and in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity. It also promotes its loyalty program, AAdvantage, which is one of the oldest in the industry and allows members to earn miles that can be exchanged for tickets or services.
Competitive advantages
American Airlines stands out due to the density of its network, particularly in North America and Latin America, where it holds a strategic position. Its membership in the Oneworld alliance strengthens its international connections and increases travel flexibility for passengers. Furthermore, the focus on technological innovation, both onboard and for reservation management, aims to streamline the customer experience.
Pretty disappointed, I have to say.
The plane (767) wasn't too bad in terms of seat comfort, but the multimedia service was not great, plus the movies were lame. The flight attendants (American only) weren't very friendly and didn't speak French (it doesn't bother me personally, but still) or rather, they didn't make any effort to try to speak French.
Don't even get me started on the food ;)
