Dunes Park in Brem-sur-Mer: 40 free-access attractions for an affordable family day out
The sound of pedal karts on pavement, shrieks echoing from the water slides, and the scent of sweet crepes drifting among the pines. This is not a massive theme park. It is a laid-back, family-run leisure park in the Vendee region where kids spend the entire day sprinting between rides while parents catch their breath in the shade.
Why spend a day at Dunes Park?
This family park sits on 4 hectares of woodland in Brem-sur-Mer, located between Les Sables-d'Olonne and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. It operates on a simple premise: one entry ticket grants you access to every attraction without any extra fees. At 13 EUR (about $14) per person for 2025, it offers some of the best value for money for family activities on the Vendee coast.
The park has been operating for years and undergoes regular updates. The 2025 additions include a double zipline, a wipe out course, new pedal karts, and a Kid zone specifically for ages 2 to 6. This place is designed primarily for children. To be clear, accompanying adults will find few rides suited for them, aside from miniature golf, trampolines, and the water slides.
Park attractions and layout
For the little ones
The Kid zone concentrates activities for toddlers, featuring a ball pit, swings, small inflatable structures, and games tailored to children 2 to 6 years old. It is the quietest corner of the park, tucked away from the bustle of the larger slides.
For older kids
Children 6 or 7 and older get the most out of the park. The rail sled track, multi-lane slide, giant inflatable structures, and pedal karts run continuously. The aquatic area with its four water slides is the main draw during heatwaves, but take note that there is no actual swimming pool, just the run-out areas at the bottom of the slides. During high heat, the inflatable structures can become hot to the touch, so plan accordingly.
- Main attractions: water slides, rail sled track, multi-lane slide, inflatable trampolines, pedal go-karts and quads, miniature golf, double zipline, wipe out, inflatable structures, bungee jumping, and barrel rides
- Recommended gear: swimsuit and towel for water games, closed-toe shoes for the sleds, sunscreen, and a hat. The park is shaded but not entirely covered
Setting and on-site services
The wooded terrain provides plenty of shade, which sets it apart from other open-air parks in the summer. Picnic areas are free, with enough tables and chairs for everyone. You are allowed to leave the park to grab your supplies from the car and return later. A snack bar at the entrance sells crepes, ice cream, and fast food at reasonable prices.
Pro tip: try to arrive early in the morning during July and August to enjoy the water games before the crowds arrive. On Mondays and Tuesdays outside of school holidays, the park is closed from April through June and in September. Plan for the full day to get the most out of your entry fee with the picnic and unlimited attractions. For just a single afternoon, some families find the price a bit high.
The park accepts ANCV vacation vouchers and credit cards, but not personal checks. Free parking is available on-site. The grounds are accessible for visitors with limited mobility. Pets are not allowed.
Opening hours
Typically open from April through September.
11:00 AM to 6:30 PM (10:30 AM to 7:30 PM in July and August)
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays outside of school holidays and public holidays.
