Visiting Punta Fiuzzi Beach
From its history as a small fishing village, Praia a Mare has retained its charm along the Tyrrhenian Sea. The six-kilometer coastline creates a series of scenes that are perfect for enjoying the scenery. In Calabria, the setting is consistently impressive. Punta Fiuzzi Beach adds to this by featuring the Dino Island and bordering a 16th-century watchtower that gave the site its name. The beauty of this environment makes it one of the most picturesque beaches on the Riviera di Cedri, the southern coast of Italy.
A concentration of color and splendor
The mix of gravel and pebbles creates a striking gray shoreline that contrasts with the iridescent blue and green reflections of the sea. At first glance, Punta Fiuzzi Beach is striking. This palette of colors is characteristic of the beach, which terminates in a point jutting out into the water. As is common in Calabria, swimming in this crystal-clear water is a pleasure. The site faces south, so heat is a given. However, the true specialty of this long beach is its location, as it sits directly facing Dino Island. It is so close that you can reach it by pedal boat to circle the island. Famous for its caves, including the Lion Cave or the well-known Blue Cave, it is one of the highlights of the village. Divers specifically enjoy the Gargiulo Cave located 18 meters below the surface. The view is sharp, and a section of the beach is equipped with lounge chairs and umbrellas to help you soak it in. You only need to turn your head to admire, a bit further away, the Torre di Fiuzzi, a tower that stands on top of its 15-meter rock. This beach has a unique character.
A beautiful little slice of paradise located in Calabria. A beach shaped like a sandy point that heads toward a rocky, cavernous island, under the watchful eye of an ancient fortress. The water is warm and crystal clear and really invites you to take a swim.
