Visiting Longchamp Racecourse, a site of prestige

A historic and evolving venue

Longchamp Racecourse, tucked into the Bois de Boulogne on the western edge of Paris, stands as one of the most significant landmarks in the world of horse racing in France. Opened in 1857, it has established itself over more than 160 years as the stage for countless high-stakes races. Its history is defined by major events, most notably the famous Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, which ranks among the most prestigious races globally. The venue has successfully moved with the times, updating its infrastructure while maintaining the historic character that built its reputation.

The stage for international racing

The Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, held every October, draws top-tier horses, jockeys, and trainers from across the globe, along with a passionate international crowd. Yet, Longchamp Racecourse is not defined by this single event. It hosts a multitude of other racing meets throughout the year, providing enthusiasts with a deep and varied calendar of competition.

The technical layout of its tracks, set against an exceptional natural backdrop, makes it a benchmark in the racing world.

A hub for culture and entertainment

Beyond the track, Longchamp Racecourse serves as a social and cultural center. Various evenings and events are hosted here regularly, attracting a diverse crowd ranging from racing aficionados to those simply looking for a night out in Paris. A prime example is the JeuXdi series, which are afterwork social events held every Thursday evening during the warmer months.

Whether you are attending a high-society event or a day out with the family, the racecourse provides a distinct experience that balances sport, style, and a social atmosphere.

A really nice place for everyone

Paris Longchamp Racecourse is a really nice spot, whether you go with family or friends. It is always a moment that is both stressful and exciting to bet on horses and watch the race live. It is very easy to move around the stands and the outdoor areas. Plus, the parking lot is huge, so there is no trouble finding a spot.

Nice after-work spot

During the nice weather, from May until the summer vacation, after-work events are organized there on Thursday nights: the Jeudis at the Hippodrome Paris Longchamp. The vibe is really nice, there is music, big open-air spaces, and drinks that aren't too expensive. The only downside is that getting to the place is a bit complicated compared to central Paris.

Lively and pretty spot

I went there for a family day and it was top notch. Activities for the kids: carousel, fun races, pony rides... A good number of them are free.
There were also real horse races, and seeing them in person is much more interesting than on TV.
Finally, there is a pretty view of the Bois de Boulogne, and even the skyscrapers of La Défense.
