Seine River cruises are a bit cliché, but it remains a truly incredible experience for anyone who loves Paris. They let you discover the capital in a different way, watching iconic monuments like Notre-Dame de Paris or the Eiffel Tower drift by. I recommend it, whether it is your first visit to Paris or not.

For me, this activity is still pretty much just for tourists. In fact, I had never done it before choosing it to show Paris to some American friends. As soon as the boat docks, it empties out and fills right back up. Unfortunately, it still feels a bit like a factory. It is the same once you are on board, where you have to fight to keep a view of the monuments. I really do not recommend sitting on the benches in the center of the deck, like I did, because you will quickly lose sight of everything. If you want to be on the top deck, stand right next to a railing. The boat ride itself is pleasant, but if you already know Paris well, the daytime cruise does not really offer much. It is better…

A huge thank you to the guide who, with enthusiasm and humor, managed to capture the attention of both the adults and the kids during the tour! Bravo, because it is not always easy to keep children interested! The splash into the Seine, which the kids were really looking forward to, was quite the thrill and it is funny. It is a shame, however, that the section of the Seine near Boulogne is so far away from the Paris monuments.

Really nice experience to discover Paris from the Seine. I took the cruise at nightfall, and it was perfect for watching the sunset. The explanations about the monuments were very clear. The little Parisian touch: we shout when we go under a bridge and lots of people on the bridges wave back at us.

The people on the Bateaux-Mouches waving at the people on the bridges, it is part of the Parisian folklore now. So, yes, you will feel like you are packed in with a bunch of tourists, but the experience remains pleasant. You can even learn a few little things with the audio guide.
