Milady Beach at a glance
Located south of Biarritz, tucked between Marbella and Bidard beaches, Milady Beach remains a favorite for locals and families. Stretching 500 meters long and 50 meters wide, its sheltered position and extensive facilities make it a staple for swimming in the Basque Country. While charming and calm, Milady Beach can experience sudden, powerful shorebreak depending on the tide. Stay alert.
Featuring a pleasant promenade that transitions from sand to green lawn, you can picnic with friends, relax on shaded benches, or simply watch the ocean. The backdrop, with blue water meeting the Pyrenees mountains, is impressive. Kids can burn off energy at the dedicated playgrounds or try various water activities like Polynesian outrigger canoeing, bodyboarding, surfing, or wave-skiing. As a leader in accessibility, the beach is equipped with Handiplage-certified facilities, including three tiralo beach wheelchairs.
While a 16th-century postcard once referred to the area as les Artigues, it takes its current name from Lady Mary Caroline Bruce, the Marchioness of Aylesbury and a friend of Napoleon III. She had a Moorish-style villa built here, which became known for its hunting parties and high-society receptions. Today, the Milady neighborhood remains highly desirable for its location 3 km from the town center, its local shops, and its many traditional bars and restaurants.
Intéressant et bonne idée pour les familles ! Mais est-ce que ce parc de jeux est gratuit ?
