Hello,
To get to the USA (San Francisco and L.A.), I traveled with Air France. Before my departure, I read all the negative things about this airline on forums (unpleasant cabin crew, basic comfort, etc.). I left with a lot of apprehension.
Well, I got back this Sunday and what a joy it was to travel with them!
The cabin crew was super pleasant, smiling, young, multilingual, and attentive. The plane was comfortable (more so on the Boeing than the Airbus A380), and the inflight service was great (drinks, snacks, etc., available whenever).
Honestly, I have traveled quite a bit with different airlines and I recommend flying with Air France (at least for long-haul flights). I left from Brussels and the price was competitive compared to other airlines (TGV + non-stop ticket).
Looking forward to the next trip, with Air France I hope :D

With Air France, for a round-trip ticket from Toulouse to Lille paid for 2 months in advance, I missed the outbound flight. I bought a one-way ticket on another flight, and then on the return, Air France demanded €470 from me to be able to take the return flight, and this was only minutes before departure, holding me hostage over my personal and professional obligations. I refused to pay and was unable to travel on this flight for which the ticket was reserved and paid. The attitude of the agents at the counter was scandalous, making me feel guilty for missing the 1st flight. They had canceled the round-trip ticket on their own initiative! I regret that the staff's attitude was hostile and provocative in order to create an incident that would have been to my disadvantage. Air France and its overwhelmed staff are incapable of understanding this competitive world where you have to respect your customers and try by all means to offer them maximum satisfaction.
Hello everyone, if you fly Air France, buy armored luggage. Items were destroyed even though they were in the middle of my clothes, and Air France replied that they are not responsible because I should have ensured they were well protected. The problem is that you cannot carry anything in the cabin anymore, and baggage handlers are more interested in seeing what they can find in our bags than taking care of them! They are responsible for our luggage and our person for the entire time we are checked in, from the boarding area until we leave the arrival airport. I am not letting this go! >:(
I haven't flown with Air France for several years now for various reasons:
- Strikes, which are much more frequent than on other airlines.
- Tickets that are more expensive in 90% of cases.
- Unprofessional and sometimes deplorable onboard service.
- The crews are often arrogant when we ask for very little, like a smile while serving meals.
- Their command of foreign languages is at a middle school beginner level (I am a middle school teacher).
That is it. From Lyon, I travel to Zurich, London, Madrid....... to catch long-haul flights.
Competition exists, you just have to take advantage of it. Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com
This company is navel-gazing and the staff only cares about their social benefits (flight crew and pilots) and their free travel passes for employees and their families, while the competition is eating their lunch. I am distressed. I have never seen a company so poorly organized, so wasteful, and so arrogant. Go to Roissy during the day and you will see idle staff at the counters who are also reluctant to help you!
This explains the prices they charge, which are much higher than the competition, the unpleasant staff, and the comfort level of an 80s charter flight. This company is sinking itself. What a shame to sacrifice one of the flagships of the global airline industry. I switched to the competition despite my "platinum" status, and I do not regret it. I now fly on Lufthansa, Swiss, Air Canada, and even Turkish Airlines, and every time, I am surprised by the level of service, whether in economy or business class. What is more, I am saving money because the tickets are much cheaper! Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com
Don't overlook this airline. I traveled to Los Angeles with Air France on an A380, and they actually gave me a pre-assembled model of the Airbus itself. The flight attendants were very calm and kind, and they didn't wake us up when they served lunch. The seats were spacious and the food was good. Air France is the best airline in the world ;) Admit it a little instead of being jealous of them ;D The AF crew is on point, they do a great job, always smiling and attentive. This airline is simply excellent :)<br>Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our former site Voyage-Net.com
Hello, I think the ticket prices for Air France are insanely expensive, so I never fly with Air France. But I get the impression that the service at Air France is high quality. Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com
What a disappointment! I bought a vacation package online for a club in the Dominican Republic. I was particularly and very pleasantly surprised to find myself on a flight with the French national airline instead of a charter flight as I had expected. I had a high opinion of Air France from having taken many long haul flights. So many disappointments:
- Online check-in 30 hours before departure: almost all the seats were already reserved! And on the return, it was impossible to access the tab! And this despite a follow-up email!
- Cabin crew: I had kept the image of an impeccable staff, both in their uniform and their behavior: here again, what a disappointment! An aging staff that is jaded, haughty, resting on their laurels, no class left at all! The image of France is degraded, especially when you know that on board, with the hub, there are many Italians, Germans, Dutch...
- Services: Meals were worse (I choose my words carefully) than on a charter flight, both on the way there and on the way back! French gastronomy: No, low-cost gastronomy: yes! Unless you pay a supplement, obviously... The wine is included, sure, but given the price, I would rather travel on another airline and pay for the wine. It would be more cost-effective and my meal would be more edible.
- The sale of duty-free products: too tiring for the flight attendants who have no commercial skills! They prefer to hide! >:( >:( >:(

Hello everyone. I read through all the posts, and the most common criticisms are that Air France is too expensive and the flight crew isn't cool. Personally, I have traveled on Air France several times and everything has always gone well. The flight attendants were pretty cool and polite (because I also spoke to them politely).
As for the price, well, you have to realize that unlike its non-French competitors, Air France is subject to French labor laws and therefore all the related costs (salaries, etc.). So it is normal that this airline is more expensive than a Gulf airline, for example. Airport taxes are huge (especially in the States). Have a great day everyone and enjoy your vacation. Five of us, extremely disappointed with the service from Air France (Paris to Havana flight). Uncomfortable, narrow seats, with the space in front reduced to the minimum just to pack in more passengers (9 hours in economy class is tough!!!!). As for the meals, both on the way there and on the way back, they were bad.... Let's not even talk about breakfast... No service on board for the duration of the flight, and for the price of the ticket, which is more expensive than other airlines, the customer is the one who has to do the work and go serve themselves. Not to mention the announcement of a strike notice on the return trip. I will not be repeating the experience with Air France. Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com
