I booked flights 4 months in advance. There was a cancellation by the airline a few hours before. Opodo is keeping 75 euros in service fees. What service??
I have used Opodo several times to compare flight prices and make bookings. To get the discounted rates, you have to subscribe to Opodo Prime (8 euros/month). Opodo then displays the discount you get, but watch out, it is often misleading. If you go directly to the airline's website, it can be a bit more expensive than the price offered by Opodo, without it being significant (sometimes, it is within ten euros). Since the Opodo subscription is monthly, do not forget to cancel it if you do not use it regularly, otherwise the small savings you made are quickly turned into a loss.
I have never booked a trip, so I cannot comment on hotel reservations. The customer service does not really inspire confidence.
Watch out! Opodo combines addresses to lure you into booking the Hotel Le Mouton Blanc at Mont-Saint-Michel (50), but actually has you book a hotel with the same name located in Cambrai (59). Furthermore, the location Cambrai never appears in any confirmations or other communications. Opodo does not acknowledge their mistake, which has happened many times according to the Hotel Le Mouton Blanc at Mont-Saint-Michel. Many tourists like me showed up at Mont-Saint-Michel on the day of the reservation only to find out the hard way.
I booked a hotel through the Opodo platform, but when I arrived in Crete, the hotel hadn't been reserved!
I had to pay for my hotel night, and it has been a month and a half now, and they still haven't refunded me!
Heads up, if you run into any issues with your bookings, like a delayed flight or even a cancellation, filing a claim with Opodo is very difficult, and the processing times for cases are very long.
It is cheaper (a little cheaper than elsewhere, though not exactly bargain basement), but it is riskier in a way...
I have regularly booked airline tickets with Opodo because their rates are very attractive. I also like their color-coded system to adjust flight dates based on the lowest price. The only negative point I have noticed is the lack of transparency regarding certain prices, which end up being higher. These are the famous "prime prices" that make you think the flights are cheaper. Aside from this detail, I have never needed to contact customer service due to a problem, so I do not have any negative feedback on that.
Personally, I have never had any problems with Opodo. I have always bought my tickets through them and it has always gone well.
It is still shocking to read all these negative comments!! I will stay on my guard, though.
I bought my tickets with them once, a Corsair flight, no issues since that is a reliable airline, but I find that the prices are not actually that low. :(Avis importé le 04/11/2020 depuis notre ancien site Voyage-Net.com
For my part, I went through Opodo to book a Paris to New York flight in May, and I had no issues. It was on Opodo that I found the cheapest price for a round trip with a major airline, Lufthansa. I correctly received confirmation emails, my e-tickets by email, and links to pages detailing the formalities to follow for traveling to the USA. In short, I am satisfied with Opodo's services. I always get my tickets on Opodo and it was really good. I find that they are cheap, which is cool because I often travel on a shoestring budget !!! Long live travel Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com
My experience with Opodo was pretty good so far, but I have not really had the chance to test their customer service in case of a problem. Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com
The prices on plane tickets are often good, and the selection of destinations and airlines is pretty wide. Review imported on 11/04/2020 from our old site Voyage-Net.com
Hello,
We bought round-trip tickets from Lyon to Dakar, via Paris, for X euros. Once the ticket was paid, of course, you realize that you also have to pay an extra 20 euros for the transfer between CDG and Orly. At no point on the Opodo site are you told about this extra cost, so they are clearly minimizing the ticket price on purpose.
After X emails, a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt, and X phone calls, they treat you like an idiot with empty responses. On the phone, they hang up on you for no reason (already mentioned several times on this forum).
To be continued.
Thanks

We bought the Flex guarantee option, which promised that we could change passenger names (in accordance with what they indicated at the time of sale).
We needed to change a passenger name.
For that, OPODO asked us for over 4000 euros, including changing the tickets and flight times.
By going directly through the airline, it only cost us 140 euros.
